We all have our useful ways of diagramming. Trying to convert a non-causal loop diagram into a CLD is like trying to uncook an egg.

Kerry is passionate about understanding and improving systems. She acquired her skills in system dynamics and feedback systems thinking during her career as a management consultant with a series of multinational companies. She trained with Barry Richmond, Peter Senge and Dennis Sherwood, and honed her practical skills with a vast range of clients. For the last fifteen years, she has applied it to every aspect of her life, including horsemanship, swimming and health.

Description

Homeostasis is a process whereby critical variables are held within acceptable limits by self regulatory processes. The standard example of homeostasis is the maintenance of body temperature at a constant of 98.6° F. in an environment in which temperature varies considerably. If the self-regulatory processes fail, the system or organism goes into a state of catastrophe. If the temperature control processes in the human body fail, the result is a state of catastrophe called hyper or hypothermia, which rapidly threatens the body's viability. It is perhaps

Kerry has commented that causal loop diagramming is a language not a model, a language for creating models.
